Civil Engineer III

About the Job

We are seeking talented and motivated civil engineers to support our Building Group.  You will play a key role the design, permitting, and construction of food processing facilities throughout the United States.  Typical responsibilities include:

  • undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
  • compiling job specs 
  • performing civil design and permitting work such as:
    • site layout
    • grading and earthwork calculations
    • storm water management design and permitting
    • erosion and sedimentation control design and permitting
    • preparation/submission of local land development permits
  • managing budgets and project resources 
  • liaising with clients and a variety of professionals including architects and subcontractors
  • resolving design, development, and permitting problems
  • scheduling material and equipment purchases and deliveries
  • ensuring projects run smoothly and are completed within budget and on time
  • presenting design to clients, reviewing agencies, and local review boards/commissions
  • providing technical guidance and mentorship

About You

  • 8+ years of civil engineering production experience in a professional services environment
  • site layout, grading, storm water and erosion control design expertise
  • construction/constructability expertise as it relates to production of design drawings and resolution of field issues
  • foundation/geotechnical experience and understanding
  • proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • strong technical writing and oral communication skills
  • understanding of private contract procurement
  • ability to travel to project sites as needed  
  • degree in civil engineering
  • valid driver’s license
  • PE license is preferred, but not required
